Vacation Bible School to Focus on Living God’s Unshakeable Truth
Sunday, June 13 to Friday, June 18, 2008 – 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
-Classes Offered: Pre K through Grades 6 and an Adult Class-
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a ministry designed to reach people of all ages, leading them to know and respond to Jesus Christ as led by the Holy Spirit. VBS is a fun-filled, spiritual adventure that provides concentrated Bible study and encourages real-life application. Statistics show that more people have come to know Jesus as Savior through VBS than through any other single outreach event. VBS results show that it is an excellent tool to enroll students of all ages in Sunday School. There is a place for all church members to serve as workers at VBS. Plan to volunteer and help Bayside reach the community children.
Bayside will be lavishly decorated to look like “Outrigger Island (a make believe island in Hawaii)” that will be filled with excitement and anticipation as students learn about Bible people who knew the truth, spoke the truth, and lived the truth! They let their actions show what they believed.
Bayside will conduct VBS using LifeWay’s Outrigger Island course materials that are prayerfully created and developed: Living God’s Unshakeable Truth is the VBS Theme. The Hawaii theme decorations will be donated to Bayside by Kettering Baptist Church, a sister church in Upper Marlboro! At VBS, the Worship Rally starts at Worship Rally Lagoon in the church sanctuary and rotate to other areas of the church to hear Bible stories at Bible Study Beach Hut; get snacks at the Snack Shack; create crafts at the Crafts Cabana; learn songs at Music Falls, play games at Recreation Reef and hear about missions at Missions Lookout! Children will have fun and learn to stand firm in a world that is constantly changing. VBS will end on Friday night, June 18 with a Family night cook-out with parents, guardians and friends on the church grounds.
Pastor Dan, church Deacons and VBS Workers have already started to pray for the VBS exciting program. Our Deacons will be VBS Counselors during altar call. On Sunday, July 6, Pastor Dan will dedicate all VBS workers at the morning Worship service. A Prayer Walk will be held Saturday, July 12 at 10 am to 12 noon, in and around the church to ask God’s guidance and protection for everything done regarding VBS 2008.
