Wednesday Family Nights a Huge Success
On January 7 Bayside kicked off the Family Night
activities with a crowd of over 100 people in attendance! Since that night
consistently large numbers have continued to come out and enjoy the food,
fellowship, and activities available for the evening. Many people have
commented about how nice it is to not have to go home and cook when they can
just come to the church and have a delicious hot meal and visiting with other
people prior to attending one of the many events going on.
Beginning at 5 pm Wednesday Family Night offers dinner,
various adult study groups, youth group, choirs for every age, and missions
study for children.
There is something for everyone!
Adults have had a choice of students led by Pastor Dan.
Laurie Peyton, or Suzanne and Jerry Henderson.
Pastor Dan’s Fireproof class has caught the
attention of couples from ages twenty through senior citizens. It
is based on the movie by the same name, and is designed to
help people of all age groups grow a marriage based on a
relationship with Jesus Christ. On the evening of Sunday,
February 8th the movie Fireproof was shown for everyone
who wanted to come.
In the near future new classes will be offered.
Those in attendance at the Sunday morning service on
February 22nd had the opportunity of choose areas of interest. Potential
studies include a class on finances, one on parenting, and one on spiritual
gifts. Of course the best part of every Wednesday is the meal. We have had
chicken pot pie, tacos, chicken and rice, macaroni and cheese, and many other
good comfort foods. Every week there are fresh salad and raw vegetables
available, and of course, dessert!
A special thank you goes to the ladies who served so
faithfully in the kitchen:
Gloria Collinson, Sandra Cavanaugh and Annette Funn.
Thank you also to Geneva Peyton who takes care of the
financial aspect by taking the money and handing out meal tickets.
A meal is $3.00 per person with a maximum of $10.00 for a
family.
If you aren’t already involved in the Wednesday night
activities, please come on out and join us for a wonderful time of fellowship
and study.

These
four letters are an abbreviation for the French words respondez s’il vous
plait which means “please respond.” In English
it basically means “please let me know whether or not you will be present” at
the event to which you have been invited. In our busy world, it is easy to
forget to let the person who invited us know whether or not we are coming. For
many weddings a reply card is enclosed with the invitation with a date by which
we are to reply. Don’t take it for granted that if you don’t reply the person
inviting you will figure out you aren’t coming. Many invitations say “regrets
only,” which means you are coming unless you tell the hostess otherwise. If in
doubt about what to do, remember, it is always good manners to reply.
