Words from Pastor Dan

Greetings Bayside Church Family,

I am writing this letter to you all a few days before Valentines Day. Yes, the day we celebrate love. The time of the year when we run to the stores or online to discover a hidden treasure we hope our sweetheart will accept joyfully. Yet, as I think about love, I am reminded of Paul’s word in Ist Corinthians 13:8 where he writes, “love never ends.” In a time of year when flowers will fade, and chocolates will be consumed, it is assuring to know that God’s love never ends for all of us.

The challenge for those of us who have received Christ’s love is, will we demonstrate this love before all? I am reminded by a line from Fireproof were the husband, Caleb, tells his wife, Catherine, that he is on day forty-three. Catherine is surprised by his answer, and reminds Caleb there are only forty days to the book on love he just read. Caleb’s response, “who says I have to stop.” God’s love for you and me never stops! No matter where we are in life, we can turn and receive His love.

The greatest gift we can give our sweetheart, family, friends, coworkers, and even are enemies is God’s amazing love. Will we Bayside Baptist Church give God’s love out daily to all? ,

Editor’s Corner

With twenty-three years experience in producing yearbooks, one would think doing a church newsletter would be an easy undertaking. If only that were true. The first newsletter I edited was definitely completed by trial and error. This edition is not much different, although I am more familiar with the program I am using this time. I have never considered myself to be technologically adept. I am learning how to download from the web and from email, and how to scan in items as well. As a result, I don’t have to retype all the articles myself, a good thing since I am a far better editor than I am a typist. All this is to say “thank you” for bearing with me as I try to get Bayside news out to you in a timely manner. At present I am aiming for a quarterly newsletter. Hopefully that can expand to a more frequent publication in the future. A special thank you to Annette Funn who gets the newsletter copied and in the mail, and to Juanita Pack who produces the mailing labels.
