SPRING IS IN THE AIR FOR PROPERTIES
AND SPACE
I
just want to drop a few lines and reflect on where we have been and where we
are going here at Bayside. This past year we have seen Gods hand in the growth of
our Church. He has blessed us with the talents of committed people who want to
bring glory to our Lord by working on the upkeep of our facilities and
property. I am so thankful to all who have assisted me this past year. Bill
Curtis has kept me straight and has helped me tremendously. He is my go to guy
when I am in a pinch and is always ready to lend a hand no matter what “New
Project” I start.
As
I stated this past Sunday (02/08/09) that if you as a member of Bayside have
not noticed change, then we are not sitting in the same church. I have seen our
Sunday services more than double, our Wednesday night prayer meeting grow from
the same 8-10 folks to over 100, a trailer refurbished by some of the most
determined and committed individuals (Youth and Adult) working side by side for
our Lord, the installation of a fire alarm system that has been required but
never worked. With this growth, we are now in the final stages of installing a
movable wall system in our fellowship hall to create three new classrooms. This
is just a glimpse of some of the happenings here at Bayside. There are so many
behind the scenes, never observed things that happen and folks just have a
different swagger and pep in their step around here! Prayer, does it really
work? Why yes, just look around at all God has blessed us with and all He is
going to continue to do here at Bayside Baptist Church. With growth come
opportunities to serve. There is a verse in the song PASS IT ON that says “What
a wonderful time is Spring, when all the trees are budding the birds begin to
sing the fl owers start there blooming, that’s how it
is with Gods love once you have experienced it you
want to sing as fresh as spring you want to pass it on.” We are always looking
for folks to assist in maintaining things here around our church. Please
contact Bill or myself if you feel lead to serve in this capacity. We have set
Saturday April 4th and 25
as Church wide clean up days. A sign up sheet will be
posted on the bulletin board in the lobby.
In
closing, on behalf of the Properties Committee and personally, I would like to
thank those who took time out of their Friday evening to come and paint the
fellowship hall. To the young people that came out, I am so proud that you
chose to take time out of your busy “social life” and spend it with us at
church.
Men,
what else can I say?
You
truly are a blessing. Once again thank you for using your talents to glorify
our Lord, our Church and your families. Ladies, I hope you enjoyed your
“Evening Out” (since I got the men out of your hair).
I
am proud to call you brothers/sisters in Christ.
In
HIS Service,
Gary
W. Swanson
(Properties
Chairman)
