March 8 High Attendance Sunday

March 15 Celebration Sunday

March will be a busy month in the life of our church, and our Sunday School Department is one of the reasons. Sunday School classes are pushing to have the highest attendance ever in each class on March 8. Then on March 15 the whole church body is invited to celebrate with a soup luncheon provided by Sunday School leadership after church. It is exciting to see new faces in Sunday school and new members becoming dedicated and growing in their knowledge of the Lord.

Two new classes have been added since we began our Sunday School growth campaign in the fall. We have a class for those who are new in their walk with the Lord entitled Christianity 101. In addition, the Youth have divided into two classes, one for girls and one for guys. Hopefully that will split into separate classes for high school and middle school in the near future. On March 6 and 7 Mr. Glenn Cummings will be returning to help us review our growth and teach us how to continue growing and serving the Lord through bible study and fellowship.

We welcome everyone to join us in Sunday School. We have a real time learning and fellowshipping together.

Cathie Dexter is our Sunday School Director.

Ladies Sunday School Class On The Move

What a blessing to learn about all the different aspects of prayer for the last 12 plus months! The class is now studying next to the last chapter that focuses on ‘Praying for Yourself and Others’! The last chapter will focus on ‘Starting a Church Prayer Ministry’. This comprehensive study on prayer will end about mid-April.

The Ladies Class will enter a new themed Study on Forgiveness: Breaking The Power of the Past based on the book by internationally acclaimed author/teacher-- Kay Arthur. The study about Forgiveness will be supplemented with various video presentations on forgiveness by other subject experts including Evangelist Joyce Meyer and Pastor Joel Olsten.

The Ladies classes are fun, interactive using workbooks and hands on discussion of God’s Word which helps to proclaim and live that abundant life! New class members and visitors are always welcomed to join this class that is full of love and excitement!

Annette Funn is the teacher/facilitator.

Gloria and I were gone for 2 weeks in January. Our class had the pleasure of having Pete Bryan and Pastor Dan fi ll in for me. The class said they did great. We got emails in FL.! We study from Master Works. This course is made up of studies from books written by very knowledgeable and devout people. The ones we have been covering since December are “The Miracle of Life Change” by Chip Ingram and “Downpour” by James MacDonald.

James MacDonald brought us very deep messages from his book. One was on HOLY. A sentence from this section said, “it is true whether you realize it or not: Your entire life revolves around your view of GOD, He is Holy meaning set apart. God is not like us at all, not in any way. He’s different.

We can’t even begin to fully understand God. Then we learned about sin, how it is like a big umbrella held high above our head keeping God’s blessings from reaching our life. The next thing was repentance. This lesson gave us 5 things we need to personally do for genuine repentance.

1. Grief over sin

2. Repulsion over sin

3. Restitution toward others

4. Revival toward God

5. Moving forward

We have a wonderful class of people wanting to know more about the Bible and how it fits into their lives now. We would love for you to join us in the fellowship hall at 9:00am on Sunday. Every day is that special day you’ve been waiting for. Seize It! Become Closer to God.

Open Nesters

If you like to study the Bible in a friendly, open atmosphere and have a good time learning, the Open Nesters class is for you. If you have an empty nest, a nest that is full, or a nest that has been empty but keeps filling up again, then Open Nesters is for you.

During the month of March we will be studying about Nehemiah, a man who was willing to step up to the task God called him to do, even though everything seemed to be against him. From the time Nehemiah first heard about the circumstances in Jerusalem until the completion of the wall, he set an example of what it means to serve the Lord, an example from which we all can learn.

Beginning with the first Sunday in March, our class will be meeting in one of the rooms created by the new partitions recently installed in the Fellowship Hall. Please come join us for a fun time of Bible study and discussion.
