Preparing Your Heart for Worship

Discovering Real Worship

When we assemble for worship it is to bring Him glory, pleasure and honor. It’s all about Him and not about us. Consequently the presence of God becomes more and more evident each time we come together. When Jesus paid our sin debt, He opened the way for us to enter into God’s holy presence. But the attitude we bring into His presence is our responsibility and is a determining factor in the final outcome of our worship experience.

Preparing for Praise

Church members are encouraged to prepare their hearts for worship. The result will be engaging God and singing to Him and not just about Him. Preparing your heart for worship allows you to meet the Lord and find James 4:8 to be true: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” Use the following Praise - Preparation Checklist to prepare your heart for worship and you’ll notice a difference in your corporate worship experience. It will draw you from the cares of life to the Giver of life. It will please God to meet you and to work in your heart without all the distractions we sometimes bring.
