MIDWEEK

MIDWEEK:  Discipleship

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?” (Luke 9:23-25)

To be a disciple of Jesus means that we have given up our lives in order to follow Him wholeheartedly and unreservedly. It means that our lives are no longer our own, they are His.  While we are all called to become disciples of Jesus, we become disciples with one another, learning how to love God and each other as we go.

MIDWEEK at Bayside is a time to grow closer to Christ, through His Word, and a time to challenge, encourage and love our brothers and sisters in Christ.

AWANA

(Wednesday Evenings 6pm to 7:30pm)

Awana is a high energy, fun place for children to learn more about God’s Word. The goal of Bayside's Awana Club is to give kids the chance to know, love, and serve God! It’s an exciting approach to teaching God’s Word, combining learning with irresistible fun to produce lifelong results in children.

In addition to partnering with parents to help develop spiritually strong children who faithfully follow Jesus Christ, Awana has a tremendous reputation for helping kids get God’s Word into the center of their lives. It goes beyond simply memorizing the verses though. Awana is all about making sure that our children understand the meaning and, most importantly, how to apply them to their lives. Awana Clubs are filled with high energy fun, fellowship, and spiritual growth. The 105-minute meetings are divided into four rotations:

  • Game Time is comprised of exciting team-oriented games exclusive to Awana that stress healthy competition and good sportsmanship.
  • Large Group Time is full of contests, interactive games, and teaching of God’s Word.
  • Handbook Time is a small group time where children memorize Scripture. This is where children work with their leaders to learn God’s Word, understand the meaning, and apply it to their lives.
  • Kingdom Kid's Choir music time and Missions.

Each Awana Club is age-appropriate and teaches kids that God is real, that He loves us very much and sent His Son, Jesus Christ. We talk about how God helps us in our daily lives and hears our prayers. We learn that God’s Word is relevant to everyday life and that hiding God’s Word in our hearts is powerful. Experiences in Awana foster a deep commitment to Christ and a genuine love for God’s Word. Our Awana Club is divided into four clubs for Preschool and Elementary children:

MIDWEEK Students
(Wednesday Nights 6:30 pm)
Every Wednesday night we come together in a way that ignites your faith and learn about God's passionate love for you.  Come and participate in MIDWEEK and celebrate life in a way that ministers to believers and is non-threatening for people who don’t normally go to church. One of our goals is to worship God in a way that allows people to feel comfortable bringing their friends. MIDWEEK is a gathering of students every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.

MIDWEEK Adults

(Wednesday Evenings 6:30 pm)

Midweek Bible studies were formed  for people desiring to study and to recharge with God's Word during the week.  Currently the Wednesday night group meets in the sanctuary from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  Sanctuary is open for individual prayer time at 6:00 pm.

MIDWEEK is open to "drop-in" visitors.

Adults at all levels of Biblical knowledge support each other and grow as brothers and sisters in Christ.   The classes are in-depth studies with lively discussions and sharing.  Christian fellowship and support for one another develop as we grow spiritually stronger together
